I think you can.I burn these candles http://www.paradisescent.com in my apartment and the smoke detector don’t go off because these candles are made of soy and they are soot free that’s why i like them.

Pier 1 has the best scents, but the wicks are often poorly placed.
Yankee Candle Company makes good candles, but their scents can somtimes be overpowering. Their pumpkin pie scent is pretty good.

I think Yankee Candle makes the strongest scent but, they really emit a lot of soot. If you use those covers that keep soot down, then you also keep the scent down. I just don’t burn them often and don’t put them too near lamps or under anything for that matter. Yankee Candle has a website too.

Yankee Candle Company are really good, and so are the ones from Home Interiors. The ones from Walmart keep their scent if you buy the smaller candles, but the larger ones seem to lose their scent before they are all gone.

Yankee Candle Company is famous for their strongly scented, long-lasting candles. They cost more, but are worth it.

Yankee candles or Bath and Body Works. I just bought a great Autumn Pear candle from there. They also had a Pumpkin and Apple scent new for this fall.
