When using dilators are you supposed to make it hurt a little?
For it to work? Lets say you have a very rare vaginal disorder where it is too small for a tampon or a penis and it’s extremely painful for sex. I don’t trust my gyno because he said to use a candle(rolls eyes). So I went on vaginismus.com and found some dilators(go there first before answering if you need to)
At first it hurts a little and have to go in very slow for it to go all the way. All the way means little pain and discomfort. am I doing it wrong? Should there be no discomfort while doing this? Or get a new doc or ask his nurse.
If you have NO IDEA what I’m talking about, don’t answer!

Stupid gyno and his candlesticks. Let’s stick one up his arse and see how he likes it. It’s really hard to find a doctor who understands and can treat vaginismus.
It’s normal to be discomforting a little when you are first starting your dilator exercises. You should stay on that first size until you can slide it in without thinking about it (meaning that it just goes right in without discomfort) Then you are ready for the next size. Make sure that you are using lots of lubricant.
Here are some other tricks you can try – breathe out while you push the dilator in. Also, if you know how to “bear down” (like letting go a stream of urine) do that while you are breathing out and pushing in.
Oh, and go join the Yahoo group primaryvaginismus. You can get better answers and support from other women who are suffering than you can here on answers.
